LOW VISION
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
We help you re-engage in daily activities by utilizing your vision effectively and efficiently

Home and Safety
Our goal is that older adults with low vision are able to age in place, continue productive lives and experience quality of life. Some but not all conditions that we address are Diabetic Retinopathy, Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma and Brain Injury. We will work with you within your home to address lighting and glare, add contrast, improve accessibility to all home appliances, assess the need for adaptive and assistive equipment, and reduce the risk of falls.
Prescription Device Training
We pride ourselves in providing a collaborative model of care where we work closely with you and your optometrist or ophthalmologist to provide you the best options available. We will train you to use your optical device whether it is hand held magnifiers, stand magnifiers, electronic magnifiers, microscopes or telescopes.

Assistive Technology
We strive to provide resources to improve quality of life by offering training in accessibility options for smart devices and identifying high tech solutions like Artificial Intelligence for text to speech, recognizing faces, money, products and more. This allows for independence in meal preparation, managing finances and inclusion in social settings.
Community Resources
Helping the client access resources within the community is a major part of what we do. Whether it is signing up for talking books program, accessing paratransit options or contacting pharmacy for talking prescription recorder we help you along the way.

Appointments
Appointments are available during evening hours and on weekends.
Low Vision services can be provided in the home setting.
